Put Moving Struggles Aside

Posted on 28th, Jan 22

Moving is a stressful event. It would be great if you could just have a teleportation machine that would zap all your belongings from one location to the next, or a robot that would take apart all those heavy bookcases. You’ll have to go through all your belongings and figure out how to best pack things. Should you pile all the dishes in one box, or will they all break during the move? Should you pack some of the bathroom towels in there for cushioning? You had your packing schedule all ready to go, but there’s that closet in the laundry room you somehow completely forgot about? You don’t have time to get to that, there’s work and the kid’s soccer game. You’ll just have to stay up late the night before the moving truck gets here.

Buying the kids those futons and putting that big cabinet in the dining room doesn’t seem like such a great idea anymore. There are a ton of parts and you don’t have the time to sit down with the instruction booklet, which you aren’t even sure you have anymore and the cabinet is way tooheavy to transport in one piece. Even if you could get it into the van, it would probably get banged up and scratched during the drive.

Unfortunately, this isn’t going to be where all of your struggles end. Unpacking is going to be the next challenge. You would love to just take a week off from work and unpack everything, but there’s just no time. It’ll be a couple of boxes one night, then some more on the weekend…and then there are always those few boxes that sit around for months. The kids are going to run around and end up tripping over them, breaking the one expensive item that you had been looking for the entire time.

You will also need to clean up a little after everything is cleared out, as there’s carpet pretty much in every room upstairs, and all that moving and sorting has caused a shower of dust and Styrofoam bits and enough coins to fund an entire afternoon at the arcade to spread over your new home. You know that you simply can’t avoid going through all of this trouble, as there simply is no way that you can feel comfortable before everything is done.

Thinking about all of this is getting rough on the whole family. The kids never want to stop playing outside or watching TV to help pack up their rooms, and pretty soon you’re juggling a whining 11-year old, a kitchen with all of its cabinets emptied out on the floor, and a dog that seems to need more outside time than ever before.

All you want is a company that will come in and do all of this for you while you get to watch from a safe distance. You need efficient, experienced movers who will take apart the futons and cabinet and box up everything else. Then everything goes in the truck and off to the new house. How great would it be if they’d do the cleaning, too? Luckily for you, there is a team of movers who can do all of this for you. Between packing, cleaning, lifting and shifting, they would even unpack everything at your new house if you want them to! You could focus on making the new place your own and not have to be stressing over all the boxes blocking the bathroom door and piling up in the basement.
